What makes a great storyteller – someone with meaningful ideas and the passion to express them.

There are two parts to every project - concept and execution. Both will benefit from consulting and working with an experienced script professional.

Every great story starts with an idea. But not every idea will make a great story. In fact, many scripts and story projects will fail because the concept is not right.

Idea development is one of the most difficult stages of the creative process but the most important. Nothing else will work if you don’t get it right. Once you've nailed your concept it's time to think about character and structure.

No matter where you are in your writing career, That Critical Eye has a menu that fits your needs from writing your first script or novel to marketing your material. At That Critical Eye we work to bring out the best in your screenplay.

Our script services give you industry-informed insights and unbiased feedback on your work, helping you take it to the next level. We offer creative guidance and advice to writers at any stage of their careers: from first-time screenwriters developing their skills to seasoned professionals submitting to producers, managers and screenwriting competitions.

We distinguish ourselves from other consultants through our considered notes and personalized approach.

Consultations themselves will vary depending on a lot of factors (including the skill level of the writer, how many drafts have been written, etc.) Usually Marjorie will have structural improvements that will take your script from so-so to professional-level storytelling.

In her consultations, she also does some on-the-page script doctoring, pointing out improvements for your scene description, action writing, and dialogue. Her goal is to enable you to tell the best version of your story possible.
